In 2018, a grassroots movement emerged in Britain with a stated aim of "creating a world that is fit for generations to come." They branded themselves Extinction Rebellion. Like the Suffragettes and civil rights activists before them, XR embraced non-violent direct action tactics to push for their cause. These tactics would soon come to define them. Beginning with the first major London Rebellion in October 2019, this handmade booklet of work is a snapshot into the story of resistance to the climate crisis in the UK. It's a story of red rebels and orange paint, of passion and desperation, community and controversy. It's a story of rage.
